Welcome to the Regional Development Alliance, Inc. Web Site
On behalf of our board of directors and the people of eastern Idaho whom we all represent, let me welcome you to our newly updated Web site…and more importantly, to our remarkable region – one of the best places in the nation to visit, live and do business!
Let me begin by telling you a little bit about what the Regional Development Alliance is and what we do. The RDA is a non-traditional business finance corporation located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. We manage a sizeable business investment fund on behalf of the State of Idaho and a smaller loan fund on behalf of Bonneville County and the City of Idaho Falls. We also serve as the Community Reuse Organization (CRO) for the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).
Business Investment
Our business investment funds are available to every stage of business – including start-ups, mature corporations and everything in between. We consider applications for funding from nearly every industry sector. We do not, however, fund retail operations, training/schools, or primarily tourism-dependent concerns. Our primary focus is job creation in a seven-county area in eastern Idaho. Counties served include Bannock, Bingham, Bonneville, Butte, Custer, Jefferson and Madison.
In addition to our standard loan program, we also offer a micro-loan program designed for start-up businesses needing small amounts of cash to get going.
Community Reuse Organization (CRO)
As the CRO for Idaho National Laboratory, we receive excess personal property from the Laboratory and use it to assist businesses that are in a growth mode. Again, our area of focus for the property management program is a seven-county region in eastern Idaho.
Whether you’re interested in applying for a business loan (new or expanding businesses) or in looking through the available CRO excess property list, this Web site will give you full and open access. In fact, you can now complete and submit an application for funding entirely on-line!
Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP)
In addition to the above, in late 2006 we received a federal grant through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to perform certain site qualification studies related to the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP). Through this Web site, you can access information on GNEP, leave comments for us and find up-to-date notices and news.
We hope you find your visit to our site useful and fulfilling. Please let us know if there is something we can provide that would make your time on our site more productive.
Sincerely,
Timothy L. Solomon
Executive Director
